BEYOND LIMITS – WHERE SPORTS MEET CINEMA

Chopper Revealed, One Piece Live-Action Season 2 Returns in 2026
The beloved reindeer doctor of the Straw Hat crew – Tony Tony Chopper – has officially made his debut in the first teaser for the new season of the One Piece live-action series.
Despite initial skepticism, the first season of the One Piece live-action adaptation achieved significant success and received positive feedback from both longtime fans and newcomers unfamiliar with the manga or original anime.
However, the second season poses a true challenge for Netflix as the storyline continues to expand, along with increasingly eccentric character designs and world-building.
In the new season, the production team faces the daunting task of bringing Tony Tony Chopper – a talking reindeer with human-like emotions and actions – to life on screen in a way that makes the character feel truly "alive." Previously, Netflix had teased Chopper's appearance back in September last year, but only through a brief glimpse.

In the latest teaser trailer, Chopper shyly steps out from behind a stone pillar and nervously introduces himself. His appearance immediately captivates with his big round eyes, small stature, and iconic oversized pink hat. The way the lighting reflects off his body and the movement of the small tufts of fur with each step adds a realistic touch—subtle enough not to distract the viewer.

Combined with a charming voice performance by actress Mikaela Hoover, Chopper’s introduction is full of personality—ranging from timid and shy to energetic and spirited. After finishing his self-introduction, he does a little celebratory dance before bashfully running offscreen.
Overall, the live-action version of Tony Tony Chopper will inevitably have some limitations compared to his anime and manga counterparts, where exaggerated expressions and actions are more easily accepted by audiences. This is more difficult to portray in live-action, but the production team has handled it skillfully, preserving as much of the character’s original spirit as possible. Even One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has expressed his satisfaction with the character's portrayal.

Creator Eiichiro Oda shared:
"After a process of trial and error by the entire team, Chopper's debut day has finally arrived. From his build, fur, facial expressions, and voice, to the simulation of gravity and lighting, an outstanding team worked together to bring Tony Tony Chopper to life in the live-action world. Now, Chopper is ready to step into the world—please look forward to it!"
